Best Korean Eye Cream: Which One Suits Your Eye Area?
"Which Korean eye cream is the best?" Here too, the answer is: the one that matches your problem. Dark circles call for a different active than morning puffiness, and dryness lines need something different than expression lines. So instead of a ranking, here is a guide: 19 Korean eye creams, eye serums and eye patches from our range, sorted by what your eye area needs right now.
Why the eye area needs its own care
The skin around the eyes is thinner than on the rest of the face, has fewer sebaceous glands and moves all day long. That is why dryness, tiredness and the first lines show up there first. Korean eye care relies on the same actives as face care, in formulas made for this sensitive area: niacinamide and vitamin C against shadows, caffeine against puffiness, hyaluronic acid and ceramides against dryness, retinal, bakuchiol and peptides against fine lines. The texture ranges from a light eye serum to a rich night cream.

How to use eye care in the Korean routine
Eye care comes after the serum and before the face cream, morning and evening. Order: cleansing, toner, serum, eye care, cream, and in the morning sunscreen as the last step. A pea-sized amount is enough for both eyes. Apply it with your ring finger along the orbital bone, that is, on the bone under the eye and under the brow, not directly at the lash line, and pat it in gently without rubbing.
Light eye serums like those from #OOTD belong in the morning because they absorb quickly and work under concealer. Retinol and retinal products belong in the evening. Start with them two to three times per week, increase only if the skin stays calm, and always use sun protection in the morning. Bakuchiol is considered the milder alternative if your eye area reacts to retinol.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a separate eye cream, or is my face cream enough?
If your eye area is not dry and you do not want to treat shadows, puffiness or fine lines, your face cream is enough. Separate eye care is worth it as soon as you have a specific goal. The formulas are tailored to the thin skin and contain the right active in a well-tolerated concentration.
Eye serum or eye cream: what is the difference?
An eye serum is lighter and more watery, absorbs quickly and is suitable for the morning and under makeup. An eye cream is richer and locks in hydration. For a dry eye area or for the night, the cream is the better choice. Both together also works: first the serum, then the cream.
What really helps against dark circles?
That depends on the cause. Bluish shadows from thin skin and too little sleep can be softened with hydration and brightening actives such as niacinamide and vitamin C. Brownish circles from pigment respond to the same actives but need patience and sun protection during the day. Circles that come from the shape of the face cannot be changed by any cream. Our ready-made routine against dark circles combines the right steps.
Can I use retinol around the eyes?
Yes, in products formulated for it, such as the eye creams from It's Skin, Dr. Althea and Beauty of Joseon in this article. Apply them in the evening, start with two to three applications per week and use sun protection in the morning. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, avoid retinol and retinal and reach for bakuchiol instead.
